I had to get a new air conditioning system in my house last week, and it came with an Ecobee System Premiere thermostat. I mentioned it on Fedi and someone posted some helpful configuration tweaks that I wanted to capture here, just in case any of y’all out there have an Ecobee thermostat and want to tweak some of the default settings in order to help extend the life of your system and also try to maximize the efficiency of the system.
The first is some manual setting tweaks that you can make (if you don’t have a heat pump or have auxiliary electric heat strips, just ignore those settings):
The second site is an extended UI that shows more information that the Ecobee tracks but doesn’t show in the standard Ecobee apps and such. There’s some nifty graphs and charts you can use to try to get the most out of your system’s efficiency:
It’ll ask to connect to your Ecobee account as an external app. For you data/chart junkies out there, this will probably really get your coolant flowing!
