As someone who works in this space, this is 100% accurate. Chatbots are being used more and more and the HR industry is chasing the AI wave in an effort to “fill orders” for their clients. It’s part of the growing ethical concerns I’m having with my current company, because we’re chasing that also as the middle man.
Thankfully most of our projects along these lines have failed, but it doesn’t stop some people in the company from continuously trying. If we ever “succeed” with it, that will probably be my cue to exit stage left (if I haven’t already).
