There's this cool cyberpunk themed game called Netrunner. The game has been around since the 1990s but the intellectual property went from WotC to Fantasy Flight and now it's 100% open and free and player run. You can download and print all the cards , have them printed by a print shop, or buy the preprinted sets . The group behind it is called Null Signal Games and they are explicitly inclusive of LGBTQ+ and disabled communities. Great community.
The game is played with netrunners vs. the megacorps with the different, asymmetrical decks that you build yourself. Megacorps install ICE on servers to protect agendas theyre trying to execute, and netrunners try to hack in and expose them. It's an extremely thematic game and very fun. And it's free if you just want to print and play!
Just wanted to share in case someone wanted a good community with a great game that's Cyberpunky.

I've been seriously considering making a couple of decks for the teen area of my library. c2019 I tried to do a MtG club, but it failed for a variety of reasons. But this seems more in the right price range. If I can find some cheap sleeves to stuff proxies in, even better.

I think this is the best game ever made ! The possibilities are enormous, gameplay is varied and the asymmetric aspect of the game make it very interesting and fresh !
I'm making an initiation game for friends irl tuesday night, i love ibtroducing people to the game. It can be played online on jinteki.net. Null Signal Game even released different format and starter decks for you to be able to start playing without having to navigate the deck building part too early...
If you want to try the game or are already playing and want a mate for a few games, hit me here or on discord or on mastodon !!

I recall seeing this game several years ago, I think it had then just shifted to be a FFG property? Figured it was doing well since I kept seeing cards related to it at local hobby shops, but apparently they are selling old stock then, if the game is already free to print. I should look into getting some, perhaps. As if I didn't have many enough games to burn my time on
I've got the base set and one of the expansions to it, although I've never actually played it. I've watched one or two of the Netrunner World Championships on Twitch though, and it's still very much an actively played game. I read about FFG picking up the rights to it and the open-source resurgence of the game, so it's cool to see new life getting breathed into it.
It really is a fascinating and well-designed game, especially for a CCG. I think it just had the unfortunate timing to drop at sort of the saturation point of CCGs in general and the resurgence of MTG's popularity, if I'm recalling the timing right. Definitely worth looking into for fans of cyberpunk and CCGs!

I follow a moth that apparently does commentary for Netrunner stuff. I mentioned interest in making said decks for work and she offered to help. I'm wafflin' though. I'm lazy and cheap.

I have the starter decks printed and sleeved up for starting to play, I think I've only played twice before, but I'm glad to continue.
I got a friend to print them out on regular printer paper at work, we cut them out, and a go some sleeves, and backed the cards with those artist cards they used to put in MTG packs, you could also use extra land cards.
