Walkmanland

Post by datarez »

Here's a fun Friday distraction.

Walkmanland

Browsing through the old tape players makes me super miss just wild designs.
WM-FK5 1999 Clear with glow lights.

YP-ES22 1996 weird slide out with transparent colored plastic

I did find the walkman I had. WM-F2078 1991 It was a great heavy duty Sports Walkman.

That slide out model is so unusual, I've never seen one like that 8-)

Same. It's neat they did different colors as well.

I think I had one of those last ones? Never opened it because my other worked until I didn't use cassettes.

...Might still be at my parent's house...

Forget a rabbit hole, that site is a whole warren!

Even after half an hour clicking through models I've not found the red Aiwa tape with AM/FM radio model I had as my first "walkman" or the much cooler, powered by a single AA battery Sony model with a silver plastic case that I used to dull out the bus to college in '92-94.

They both vanished in house/country moves as I've travelled around, but I'm regretting getting rid of them every time I get that itch but realise there is no good reason to buy a casette player on one of the second hand sites (except for nostalgia).

See also my longing for a minidisk player, inspired by several folks from around here ;)
