So the fruit cakes are trying to do the impossible and make movie version of william gibsons Necromancer novel.
Personally, I have not been too impressed with how the have filmatized other great novels like The Silo, but maybe this will actually work.
I’m willing to give it a chance, I enjoyed “The Peripheral” series that was abandoned after a single season, even though it took some liberties with the material. Given that I think Johnny Mnemonic got pretty close to Gibson’s conception of “cyberspace” back in the 90’s a crew that loves the material and cares about the final product should be able to manage a decent adaptation. What strikes me is that clearly Apple is willing to take risks and that’s something that most of the legacy studios avoid like the plague.
I loved Apple’s adaptation of Murderbot, and I’m 100% onboard with giving this a chance. And I’m so tired of Marvel/DC slop that I don’t want to do anything that discourages companies from taking risks on other IP.
